Just come back from a corporate presentation on managing mobile devices.
As a bit of fun, the presenter introduced the audience to a new consumer
device which has sold 500,000 units in the US and is now available in
the UK for =A395 from amazon.

It's a PDA which has the all the standard PDA utilities (calendar,
address book, calculator, etc).=20

It has WIRELESS comms built in!!

It has a range of 150 ft indoors and 300ft outdoors.

It will automatically communicate with up to 100 similar devices within
range.

It can connect to a PC and act as a Virtual Wireless Internet Gateway
for up to 100 devices in range.

It has local email and can connect to Internet email once connected to a
PC.

It has local chat facilities.

It can act as a WAP browser

It has 400+ free games available for download.=20

It can be an MP3 player.

It has a full qwerty keyboard (a bit on the small size)

It has a RS232 interface for PC connection

It has a sh*t screen (excuse my French but it can't be all good!)

It's =A394.99 from Amazon and available in the UK.

It's the cybiko (http://www.cybiko.com/uk/features_list.asp)
PDA
currently being marketed at Teens and schoolkids as a cheap and cheerful
wireless PDA. Pushing wireless chat, email and interactive wireless
games.

It looks a bit naff (translucent plastic) and is not in the same league
as a Palm or Ipaq but I'm sure there must be some uses it can be put to
in the HA world especially with its wireless connectivity, RS232 port
and cheapness.=20

Even if not, get a couple for the kids (or yourself) and have a blast !!

I want one ^H^H^H^Htwo

Cheers
Don
