It is ON topic for once !

OK Zone 1 is called 'Front Door' and has been determined as part of your
entry path, which means that it won't trigger the alarm instantly as you
enter the house. A preset time is given for you to turn off the alarm.
It has been set as 'Zone Type 2' which is Final Exit Door. This Zone
type will trigger in all modes except 'Security Off'. See Table 8 in the
Work Actions book for details on each Zone Type. The light grey text is
what each zone type actually does. So Zone Type 2 will cause an instant
alarm in 'Away Mode', 'Night Mode' and 'Day Mode'. Still with me? OK now
for the responses; The 'Response On' value and 'Response Off' value are
actually macros that run every time the zone is triggered 'on' or 'off'
(in this case every time your Front Door is open[ON] or closed[OFF]).
Comfort calls these macros "Responses". Therefore your system is
set up
so that when Zone 1 triggers 'on' (ie: When your Front Door is open!)
Comfort should execute response 248 (run a macro). The default Comfort
setting has many predefined Responses as seen in Table 33 in the Work
Actions book. Response 248 is spare so your installer must have created
a response and stored it in location 248. What I meant by saying "try
entering in response 59" was to chance the 'on response' value from
248
to 59. If you do this then (I think a reset is required) the nice lady
will say 'Front Door' from the keypad every time your front door is
open. So response 248 looks to be some sort of macro to turn on lights
or something and that is why lights were going on every time you opened
the back door!! I hope this is helping to explain what way your system
is set up, is it?

Do I need to do each zone? Does anyone see anything wrong in my
description?

Gareth - a question for you;
What is the difference between your Hallway Zone setup and your Living
Room Zone Setup? You should have a rough idea by Saturday then you can
play with the alarm during the day.
