why is their such a limitation on the length of cable for USB? - do they
use
very low voltages for their signalling, and as such this would deteriorate
over any distance - say 15 metres?

just seems such a waste, that I can buy a reasonable colour web cam for
under
£50 and I could then have more than one connected to my pc, that they would
all have to be within a few metres of node Zero!!
