They have switches (aka points) to let them peel off for a stop. The whole
thing is intended to be a transport network rather than just a
point-to-point
system. On busy routes they can also install multiple tracks (in 3
dimensions!) to load share.

Sadly it's still vapourware as no-one is willing to be first.
