Temporary X10 Lights Control Failure

Hi,
I have recently-wired X10 LD10 DIN modules controlling most of my lights
(run by HomeVision standalone). They all work fine normally.

However, every now-and-then (3 times in 3 months), a set of lights
(controlled by 1 LD10) will simply not respond to any X10 message. This
lasts between days and weeks. The first 2 occasions were to 1 set of
lights, so I guessed dodgy wiring to be the fault. This last week, the
fault occurred to a different set of lights/LD10.

I've tried all the obvious (?) things I can think of, but to make sure :
- rebooted PC, turned on/off PC/HV in all sorts of permutations (was
getting
desparate)
- nudged/moved/hit (gently) LD10 unit

Currently these lights are wired up to an un-terminated wall socket, ready
for when I get round to fitting a momentary switch. The wires are all
taped/insulated/untouched (?) - As I'm writing this I guess fitting the
light switch is my first job tonight.

Any other suggestions ?

James
