Tesco insist I connect to their ISP for sending so

Most ISP will insist on this as they really don't want to be a mail relay.
The easiest way to stop being used as a mail replay for spammers is to
force
users to dial into the ISP network to use the ISP mailservers. Try running
a
POP3 server on your machine and send the mail directly using MX records
instead... I find VPOP3 a nice little program for this and I think a single
user version is free...
