Yep...that's what we've all been talking about for some time now.  Even easier to implement with HomeVision as IR is integral part.

Like everything else, it's all good in theory, it's the nitty gritty that takes the time.

I just had a stupid idea...

Let's say we have an iPaq with wireless lan,
                  a PC,
a RedRat2 (or one of the other IR thingies),
                  an IR extender
and a bit of hand crafted software.

The iPaq could tell the PC over the network which IR command to send
the PC makes the RedRat2 send the signal and the IR extender makes
sure the signal gets to the device.

Any thoughts? Don't hesitate to tell me if I have now completely lost
my marbels...

am looking into IRDA but this is a little more difficult. 56KHz is
used on some B&O stuff I understand.

Would you mind doing me a quick how to to get win2000 server running
TS. I have installed the TS client on the pod so should be OK there.

for me tonight.  Here are a couple of cool pics showing the iPAQ and
Epod running Win2000 Server :-)

although you'll need to manually copy the Strong Arm cab file to the
unit and run it from there.  Some of the iPAQ pictures show Jimmy
Soft's "Landscape" in use which can get a lot more info on the screen.
