Just
going to try MP3'ing one of my usual test discs - "Secrets Of The Beehive"
by
David Sylvian (ex of Japan), Blue Nile (Linn Records), Tin Machine etc. to
see
what the DDARs are really like.
Most
music nowadays is so heavily compressed that the compression or
lifelessness
that is often associated with MP3'd music is actually just the results of
an
overly heavy handed application of limiters in recording. (I used to love
listening to music when I had free run of the studios at work ... I haven't
heard anything in the domestic field that comes close to the clarity
and
dynamism of a Bryston amp / PMC near field
monitor combo!)
Remember you can not run 2 servers (of the Dell software) on the
same
network, the units are likely to get confused. I would expect the P133 to
be
absolutely fine for the server software, it is the location of the MP3
files
that matters. The 'server' software is simply pointing the DDAR's to the
music
files, it doesn't actually 'serve' music.
