I do NOT have ir receivers capable of receiving x10 signal and was very suprised to operate x10 via my Scan Sc2000 dvd ir remote.......:-)

I have set up a Micromark video reciever in my bedroom, this can also receive ir which is sent to to the transmitting unit in the lounge beside the dvd. When I use the keys or the direction arrows, I can switch on and off certain x10 units (lamp and appliance) or all off, or all lights on. I haven't fully explored it, but it is strange, when pressing to move about the menus, the lights go off. I presume the frequency of the ir signal, being transmitted at >2GHz. It happens on all channels.

strange but true
