Fair enough, but unlike you most people seem to leave out the crucial
testing.

mmm, I think I would disagree with you in this case. the box is going to be
a
gateway. These services are not present on the outside interface and the
only
connection that is will be ssh to get in from work.

I don't see why you can't have services running on the gateway box - ok the
more you have the more chance you'll blow a hole in the security but you
shouldn't fix testing by seperation.
