When faced this this - the first step is to remove complexity ;-)

Why not just disable your additional dialler, and reconnect a few times
manually, and see if the problem still occurs.

If it does, then it's nothing to do with the dialler, and it's driver
time.
If it doesn't, then it _is_ dialler-related, so fiddling more with the
W2k auto-reconnecting till that works would be worthwhile.
