BT used to do a unit called a "Switch Unit 1A" (snazzy name isnt
it!) that =
plugged into a phone socket and used a triac to switch mains (or any AC
vol=
tage >24V)

Don't know if they still do them as i havent worked with phones for 5
years=
!

RS & Farnell should have them but they arent cheap . About =A360 IIRC
