Interesting answer, some of the laptop's we use when out on site will not
read the CDRW's, they are not brand new but are not that old either.
I think that could explain it though...I will look into it, this sounds
interesting.
On the side of the bootable CD, thanks people for your help, I have now
sorted it and sorted it using RW cd's as well!
It was a case of not totally understanding the script's I had on my boot
disk and not understanding how to make a bootable CD using Nero.
The PC's I am using are brand new HP Vectra C700 items and they do read the
CDRW's as stated, more answers and more questions, oh the road of an IT
Muppet is a long and interesting one...
Thanks again,
B.

Surely that's nothing to do with drivers? - I thought it was merely the age
of the CDROM drive in the reading machine that determines whether or not it
can read CDRW's?? - Aren't CDRW's much lower reflectivity that CDR's? - the
laser read mechanism needs to be calibrated to account for that, which they
are in newer drives, but are not in older ones..
I have a stash of old IDE CDROM drives in my spares bin, some of which will
read CDRW's, some wont, I occasionally dig one out to use when building a
new PC on the bench. Whether that PC will read a CDRW or not depends purely
on which drive I pull out of the box... I never have to install drivers to
change that, - just pull another drive out of the box..
