The eTrex connects via a serial cable to the PC running Autoroute ... be
aware that there *ARE* two serial cables - one is "just" a serial
cable
whereas the other has a cigarette lighter power adapter in addition to the
serial cable.

The price difference between the two cables is about three pounds with the
serial lead about £23 and the serial + power lead at about £26.

I was very impressed with the eTrex plus Autoroute - it was suprisingly
useable and I hope they will extend the functionality of the Autoroute GPS
addons to include direction and turning commands via the MS voice wizard.
The only function that they really should add is the ability to make the
direction of travel upwards (i.e. rotate the map as necessary on the
screen)
and the GPS locator does get very close to the edge of the screen before
scrolling the map.
