been there, done that.....lol

i'm just fortunate that I own my own IT consultancy, and I do come=20
across bits and bobs all the time...

I obtained 4 Xeon 550 CPU's with 2 meg of cache, and then luck would=20
have it, someone in the usa was flogging a proliant 6400 with no=20
memory, cpus or voltage regulators for a silly price...

2 and 2 together, and I get a 10 grand server for a very small price..

i've even got 15 odd hot plug hard drives on ebay auction allready,=20
and still have more to shift....

Brian does currently have first refusal on the Proliant 2500 as he e-
mailed me first....but get this...

I MIGHT BE SELLING MY OTHER 2500 !!!!!
it's a higher spec, 256mb Ram, Integrated Management Display, 5 x 9.1=20
Gig 10k rpm drives and a Smart 2DH Array card....it'll be more money=20
though, just haven't decided how much yet....oh and it has an 8gig=20
DAT drive as well.....

Also got 2 Compaq 5708TX 10\100 Switches (8 port) which I think i'll=20
be parting company with soon...FULL SNMP\MANAGEMENT,,,currently they=20
are about =A3750 each,,,i'll be flogging them for =A3250 each.

Also,,anyone want a 24port patch panel ? got one i don't need,,,it's=20
a BT badged one (hey we can't have everything - eh Keith ?)...anyway=20
anyone who NEEDS one, rather than Mr Harris, who buys and hoardes=20
anything is welcome to it.....

anyway swmbo will be happy to see some of this gear out of the house,=20
as i have sort of taken over 3 rooms for storage...

Regards

Geraint

I added 290 quids worth of parts to make a server. Put linux on (e-
smith) and it is 100% reliable.
