Does anyone know if magnets will stick t the wall ties in the wall
cavities
of houses?

I'm thinking of putting a strong magnet on the end of the 1st pull string
as
both weight and locating device. I figure a compas on this side of the wall
will let me locate the magent on the other side very easily.

All assuming that it wont stick t any nearby wall ties.

How far apart should these be inside the wall, both vertically &
horizontally?
