Hi Brian,
Only a guess but could it be that you are attempting to view a HTML email
which contains images! This would cause the modem to dial out to the
Internet in order to display the image. I suggest you set your
yahoo!Groups
profile to not convert emails to HTML. It's a preferences option per
yahoo!Group.
I might be completely wrong but this is what solved the problem when I was
having similar issues.
