Sigh. Only too true, that's why I have now adopted the expedient behaviour
of not actually telling SWMBO when I've bought new toys! - I sneak them
into
the house, and implement them, and then when (if) she notices anything, I
just say "we've had it for ages!"

I once put up a new pair of speakers in the lounge, and she >never<
noticed
at all! - I had to tell her months later when she was arguing "I'm not
unobservant" - HoHo!
