I've just spent 40 minutes repeatedly redialling to get onto BT Internet's
premiumrate rate help line. Once at 20 past nine it started ringing and
rang
for five minutes before cutting me off. I have just managed to get through
only to spend 8 minutes working through my Internet settings (all numbers
are correct and logon details are right), the "assistant" asked
me to check
my network settings and list the items shown under Network -> Network
Components.

As soon as I listed the TCP/IP -> 3Com Etherlink card I was told that BT
Internet do not support the use of networked computers on their service. I
tried to explain that the network link is only for accessing a printer
shared across a network and I was asked whether this machine was a server.
I
answered that it wasn't and that if what he wanted to try knackered up my
network settings then I was happy for that to happen and I could set it up
again later. I was once again told that BT Internet would not siupport any
form of networked machine.

This is good ... considering that my "Internet" machine has an on
board
network card which doesn't disable then it seems that BT Internet are
refusing to support me.

I am now really p***ed!

Phil
