The Golden rule of keeping one hand in your pocket applies when
working
on Live circuits for the purpose of testing.
This avoids shocks directly up one arm and down the other thus
greatly
reduces the risks.

sitting on a piece of cardboard on a dry wooden floor. The

received was directly across Live and Neutral therefore

leakage to earth so the trip has no reason to pop.
