I just replaced an old time clock that did the "heating" and
"hot water"
thing with a couple of AD10's and it works fine, I can send you photo's of
the install if you like. These are controlled both by times in HV's
schedule
and off an RCS wall stat, the aim being to link the RCS to a 240V relay
(when I get around to it ;o)) and let the stat control the heating but HV
still controls the hot water stuff.

After getting the programming correct in HV it works very well indeed and I
have had no problems at all with this setup.

Hi,

My electrician is due to start work tomorrow, and I have just had a bit
of a doubt over whether an idea for my heating would work or not, hopefully
someone can re-assure me that it will...

Basically, I am installing a normal oil fired central heating system with
three zones:- Living area, sleeping area, and hot water tank. My plan to
provide x-10 control to this was to have each zone working through a
standard mechanical time clock (you know the ones with the pins you push
out for each 15 min period of the day/night). So each zone would have a
time clock, and each clock would also have an on/off switch beside it. I
intend to replace each of these switches with an AW10, which will power on
each clock, depending on which zone I wanted blah blah blah...


Now the clocks are just a get out clause if I decide X10 is a piece of
crap or I want to sell the house etc, I intend on having the clocks on
24hrs a day, with the AW10's doing the on/off bits.


The question is will this work..... and will the AW10's have to have
their own circuit or can they all be fed of the same live and neutral...
