www.rapidelectronics.co.uk
but only a holding page at the moment.
not quite as bright as the US ones but...
Red Ultra 5mm 3500mcd 21p each, 100+ @ 15p
Yellow Ultra 5mm 2500mcd 20p each, 100+ @ 15p
Red Hyper 5mm 4000mcd 22p each, 100+ @ 17p
Green Super 5mm 250mcd 12p each, 100+ @ 9p
White 5mm 1100mcd 2.10 each, 10+ @ 1.90, 25+ @ 1.79, 100+ @ 1.56
Blue 5mm 1000mcd 99p each, 25+ @ 75p, 100+ @ 67p
Multicolour 2.95 each, 100+ 2.15
(1xRed 90mcd, 1xGreen 70mcd, 2xBlue 12.5mcd)
Although the Blue seems very low compared to the other 2 colours, in
reality
is seems to be the brightest. Must be something to do with how the eye sees
colour.
I told you White and Blue were expensive!
They also do some LED clusters with multiple LED's in one package.
26mm Cluster (7 Ultrabright Red @ 2500mcd, 8 Ultrabright Green @ 1600mcd)
3.50 each, 10+ @ 2.80, 50+ @ 2.38, 100+ @ 2.10
this would require a 24v supply because the Red LEDs need 14V @ 20ma using
501R resistor, Green 19.2V @ 20ma using 240R resistor. By powering both
sets
of LED's you can get Yellow. By varying the current through both sets you
can get any colour from red thru orange, yellow to green.
52mm Cluster. 50 ultrabright red LEDs 16000 to 23000mcd....YES 23
Candelas!!!
6.95, 5.60, 4.95, 4.65 for 1,10,50,100 respectively.

Thanks. Is it worth me searching for a web site?

Less than $3 each from those chaps in the US.

Cool. These could be great fun!
