*sigh*
For the second evening in a row I've just had "What have you done to
this? It's not working!" from the missus in reference to my AV
system.
It was
all working fine 30 minutes ago when I got into the bath ... now I've got
out
it's "What have you done to this? It's not working!". I hadn't been
downstairs,
I hadn't touched anything more technical than the pull cord on the bathroom
light but it's still what have *I* done to it.
For
the second evening in a row when I've gone down and tried it it's been fine
too
... last night was the DVD player not responding to the menu keys. (That
was
down to the "user" standing 3 ft in front of the telly and pointing the
Pronto
at the centre channel speaker underneath to control the DVD player when the
DVD
player is across the other side of the room!) Tonight's
"not
working" was down to the "user" pressing the "System On" button on the
Pronto
and then putting the Pronto down on the table where it was masked by a pile
of
newspapers whilst it was still going through its macro
sequence!
AAAARRRRGH!
Is
there any way to do the following:
1) Use
a Remote IR receiver positioned somewhere by the TV to pick up any IR
signals
and relay these back to a set of multiple IR emitters attached to the IR
windows
of my AV kit (whilst at the same time blocking out any IR from the room
itself).
Now this can be done using an IR distribution amp as on LetsAutomate - I
know
that but below is the "rub".
and at
the same time:
2) Use
the same IR receiver to pass IR to the HomeVision so that HomeVision can
intercept commands that currently are macros and then use those to trigger
command sequences sent down the same set of IR emitters as in (1)
above.
I'd
rather have a single IR receiver and have HomeVision tucked out of the way
in
the equipment cupboard if at all possible.
Cheers
Phil
