You just can't say no to new toys, can you? :-)

Doesn't this indicate the source of the noise is coming from the Quadscan
unit? If the noise is originating from the PSU, some would be heard even
with no load. As a first shot, try wrapping the power lead to the Quadscan
around a couple of ferrite rings.
