Make sure that the IP address of the NIC
in the server with the modem/NAT has NO gateway specified - otherwise NAT
will fail. Things to try : can you ping the www. site of the provider ? can
the nat box ping his machine ?

Sorry...should have said.
He's running Win98SE and using ICS. However, the machine he's trying
to
connect to IS the one with the modem on it. This is almost identical
to my
setup (although I'm running Win2000) and I can VNC into my router machine
no
problem.
He's on BTInternet (same as me also).
Wierd!
