Surftime applies to the ACCOUNT not the number and is £5-99 per
month
Normal
POTS line = one number with Surftime
Home
Highway = three numbers , analogue1, analogue2, digital(2ports) Surftime
discount applies to all numbers.
MOST
ISP's use caller ID as part of the authentication for their surftime
dialups.
I
have
BTInternet Surftime at £4-00 bringing the total Surftime cost to £9-99
pm
These
are shown separately on the bill as follows
Rentals
analogue 1 BT Surftime E&W 15-29pq
=
17-97 inc vat = 5-99 pm
analogue 2 BT Surftime E&W
0-00
digital BT
Surftime
E&W 0-00
BTInternet Surftime Subscription 10-20pq = 12-00 inc vat = 4-00
pm
BT Together -HH Conversion from PSTN
102-10pq = 120 pq = 40 pm
I
also
registered with Freeserve before they started charging so have Surftime
access
to that.
I
can
dial one PC into BT Internet and another into Freeserve all for my 9-99 per
month.
Keith
I seem to recall the surftime charge was spilt
on
the last bill over the 2 HH numbers. Has anyone asked for a reduction or
rebate as no one supports the use of 2 lines ?

Demon do not currently provide bonding on their surftime
products. From Demon's FAQ:
What about ISDN? BT ISDN-2 lines
(including Home Highway and Business Highway) can call the new numbers.
Other types of BT ISDN line cannot. The BT SurfTime subscription covers
both channels of the ISDN line. The new telephone numbers contact the
existing Purple ROMP. This ROMP does not have a dual-channel-bonding
facility. This may be added at some
future date.

With respect to this, BT Surftime (as a billing product)
allows for Bonded ISDN. The part of BT that provides the Surfports
that the isps use (Demon excepted) cannot, for technical reasons,
accommodate Bonded ISDN. Demon get round this, I believe, by not
using BTs Surfport product but by routing the Surftime call direct to
their modem racks where they can do as they
please.

The last I heard was that
Surftime T&Cs allow you to bond channels, and providers such as
Demon
will allow you to connect to them via Surftime bonded channels. However,
I was also told that BT have not yet managed to overcome 'some
technical'
difficulties in implementing channel bonding over Surftime, for which I
assume what is really meant is that BT *can* provide but would like to
drag their heels over it for further commercial gain, not that I'm
cynical.
Your best bet is to phone Demon's sales or technical line.
They seem pretty clued up and helpful, particularly if you are a
prospective customer.
