Des and I are just talking about this card!  It;s the one WITHOUT the TV
out
yes?

Would be fine for server though as all it's doing is capture.  The more I
think about it though I recon software codec is the way to go.

Disadvantages - Need very fast CPU

Advantages - smaller files (easier streaming over LAN)
better quality
able to take advantage of new emerging codecs quickly
and cheaply
