The ripper plays no part in ths whatsoever. I have verified (because I
was curious) that a track ripped from CD with Audiocatalyst (which uses
audiograbber) produces a file >identical< to using CDDA32.

It's a digital data stream, and only duff firmware in your CDR Drive
will make a difference.
