I looked into this a little while aga. I live in Holland and the local
leccy co use them big windmill things to generate power. I looked at both
windmills and solar energy which I wanted to, primarily, use to cool the
house in the summer - it gets very hot inside because the sun tracks left
to right but always shines through the windows... all I really found out
was that it was frighteningly expensive and you would probably be looking
at 10 years before you started to turn a 'profit'

Subject: [ukha_d] OT(ish) Wind Generator / Solar Panels

Hi all,

A bit off-topic, but I'm wondering if there's anyone out there with
experience with harnessing mother nature to generate electricity/hot
water. I've come across a lot of sites which promote alternative energy,
but none that offer any great advice, where to start etc.

I don't have any great need to do this, since I live on a large housing
estate and do have mains electricity, it's something I've always wanted to
do.

Cheers!
- Phil
