I've cut a circular section out of my PVC sofa and put it on my turntable
but the needle keeps digging into it... how do I get sound from my vinyl??

I have a good example of this. Over the years I have become a bit of a
vinyl spod and spent a reasonable amount of cash on a turntable etc but I
brought "whats the story? morning glory" by Oasis on vinyl rather
than the
standard cd release. If you listen to the CD they have overlayed the
recording with scratches and general vinyl ambience but rather than remove
this before mastering onto vinyl they left it on there!
Now I am a fan of the ambience you get with vinyl but in this case it just
sounds terrible! I have a very simple rule to resolve this:
pre 1985 - vinyl
post 1985 - cd
off topic i know but thought you might be interested.
thanks
kieran

That's the other thing that annoys me. The only recordings you can get
that
do play back well on these systems are Moravian bongo music and the like.
