8/10 for that tip......

It does the job but requires a reboot to make the changes take effect.

Not quite what I want but cheap, simple , and will work.

Keith,

You should be able to do this :

Open regedit, then find the following key :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Class\NetTrans\xxxx\IPAddress

xxxx will be a 4 figure number, and there may be more than one of them (one
for each network device? card, modem etc)

Export this key to your desktop, make a copy of it, then edit the copy,
entering whatever IP address you want. When you double click on the one you
want, and it should change your IP address. You shouldn't even need a
reboot either, though ymmv.

I know I don't need to point out that changing the registry can be
dangerous, so insert a standard disclaimer the clears me of any blame here.
