I would be very interested in a comparison of the 2, if you have time to
summarise it in a few lines when you've built both.  I'd be particularly
interested if you have the chance to try it with multiple receivers.

BTW, I would definitely recommend you go for the 'daylight-filtered'
photodiode, for a whole extra 10p!  And it's probably worth taking a
printout of the article with you, that way there's half a chance that if
they don't have the precise parts in stock (though you may be in luck,
they're all fairly common), that someone there might be able to suggest a
suitable alternative if they see the application.  That's very
shop-dependent though...
