X-10 110V mods.

well, the good news is that my house didn't catch fire, and I wasn't
showered with burning shrapnel.
That being said, it disny work either. This is a new one to me: no
burning, no overheating components, the fuse doesn't blow, yet the
circuit is dead.
I have two theories at present:
1) Maplin sold me the wrong value resistors, and I (like a complete
Duffus) didn't check them. (I would have expected some minor fireworks,
though)
2) In trying to float loose the US Power Pins, I put down >far< too
much heat onto the board, and flambed the X-10 chip.
I now move onto lamp module #2 safe in the knowledge that I need to
a) Check my resistor values >before< putting them on the board.
b) Be quick and accurate with the soldering iron, rather than brutish.
*sigh*
