Yup, I agree with everything you've said to them.  Sadly when I've had
problems with their website (broken links, impossible to find anything with
the search engine unless you know the maplin order code etc), I've had
similar "well, that's just the way it is- better get used to it"
replies...

As I'm sure you know, when it comes down to it, it's entirely up to them
(or their shareholders) how they choose to run their business, and if this
approach makes them more 'successful' by their definition, they've made the
'right' choice and the board of directors go home happy.  Even if that
choice seems to be "stuff the majority of customers that have helped
them
get to where they are".  Sad but true- fortunately Farnell etc seem to
run
to a more consistent business plan (or have done so far, no telling what
might happen tomorrow!)
