Hi All,

following the reciept of an automated reply I have now resent the message
to "customer.service" with the following paragraphs inserted....

Please could you deal with the issues I raise in an email that I originally
sent to "magazine.editor@xxxxxxx"
I got a "bounced email" message stating that Paul.Freeman-Sear
was not a
known user.
I resent the message to the webmaster and web.comment addresses shown on
the bounce message.
I then received this seemingly automated reply...

> Thank you for your email. Paul recently left the company and we have
not
> updated our site. My apologies for this but if you could tell me what
it
is
> in connection with I will try to help.

The comment that "Paul recently left the company and we have not
updated
our site" is totally unacceptable for a company with an online
catalogue.
To be successful in the world of eCommerce a website should constantly
updated. The fact that the intended recipient of the email was apparently
redirected from "magazine.editor" to
"whoever.does.the.job" should make it
a simple matter to ensure that the email is received by the correct person.
Does this mean that the magazine currently does not have an editor?

As pointed out by Nigel, Maplin will no longer be my primary supplier, if
fact they will now be lucky to be my last resort supplier. The stock levels
in the Norwich store are abysmal and staff technical knowledge of anything
at component level is virtually non-existant. The one guy who was a true
enthusiast like myself left about a year ago.

Also as noted by Nigel this is NOT an attack on everyone at Maplin. There
are some people there who do care [ certain list members included ;-) ], I
just hope my comments reach one of them in a position to do something about
it.

>From now on my suppliers will be Rapid and Farnell and anyone else who
has
the products I want at the right prices.

Keith
