As a suggestion, pressing "S" on these older BT units disconnects
the
mic in the handset. It could be that the line is too "noisy" with
the
Mic open for Comfort to hear the tones cleanly, whereas pressing
"S"
disconnects that circuitry, allowing clean tones?
