Re: This Damn Country!



Is it possible for one of you who wield soldering irons as easily as the
rest of us use a knife and fork, to explain what is involved in converting
US X10 gear to 240V. I too would like to buy at US prices but have just
about learnt which end of my soldering iron I should hold. Ideally I would
like instructions along the lines of 'buy these part numbers from Maplin,
cut the links shown on the attached jpeg and solder the components on where
the arrows are'. I am used to seeing these sort of instructions on the web
for modifying DVD players for multiregion and processors for serious
overclocking. I would even be willing to pay a reasonable sum for this
information, though I would immediately put into the public domain for
others to make use of. I would of course accept that such modifications are
not recommended, are dangerous, can not be guaranteed to work and breach
all
warranties.
