I can thoroughly recommend Psion PDAs. I have a Series 5. The good
thing about Psions is that they last a long time on a set of batteries
and rarely crash. When they do a reset doesn't loose all your data.
However, if it was me I'd wait a year before buying another one. Things
are changing really fast in the PDA world. Ericsson have show a
prototype with built in GSM (GPRS?) and GPS. Now I happen to be a bit
hooked on computer assisted navigation so I like the idea of having the
GPS built in and enough bandwidth to download detailed maps of where I
am! Incidentally my Psion connected to my Garmin 12 GPS with Street
Planner Millennium software is a really powerful navigation system -
just wish Street Planner and Route Planner were better integrated!
Of course when I eventually get Comfort I will want to have a colour
hand held browser for controlling my home and viewing security cameras!
I think next time I will go for a pocketable screen only device, however
the keyboard on the Psion is excellent.
Just some thoughts,
Cheers,
Chris Williams
