Mine recommends not keeping it on for more than 6 hours.  7 is unlikely to
make a huge difference, but the gloop might need replacing sooner.  It
seems that shaking the thing is worse and less reversible than overheating-
a friend has one that you can barely see through, having tapped it
regularly to dislodge small blobs that sat on the top...
