Re: Homeseer on BTinternet

Mark I would be grateful of your advice on setting up the dynamic dns program along with the myip.org to collect my btinternet dynamic ip address. For some reason I cannot get it to set up. I also logged into www.dyndns.org as a possible alternative.

Unfortunately I have been spending more time lying down than on my pc at present, but hopefully soon I shall be able to spend more on the pc.

I'm using Dynamic DNS from...

This little tool sits in your system tray.  Everytime you go online it points your chosen URL (in my case otto.myip.org) to your current IP.  Look here too http://www.myip.org/dd/

It is also really handy for things like Netmeeting, BuddyPhone etc as my mates don't need to know your current IP to contact you.  They just use otto.myip.org.

Thanks for your advice Mark. I have downloaded the software and am pretty impressed.

You may be able to help with one question I have regarding the dynamic ip addresses set by btinternet. How do I put a link on my webpage to my home server.

Thanks

I'm using this to automatically dial in to BT when it's free.
