Hi Andy,

No I dont have a Crestron, but I have to look after 2 very old Crestron
Minisystems. At the moment I am trying to figure out how to squueze a quart
out of a pint pot. The basic spec is

16 normally open relay outputs.
8 Digital I/O (8 lines that could be 5 in 3 out NOT 8 in 8 out)
6 IR/Serial ports. Normally IR but can be configured as RS232 out with no
handshaking
2 Bi-Directional RS232/422/485 ports.
2 channel volume control.

Our only control interface for each system is a 32 button wired keypad but
they only have 14 buttons fitted.

Colour LCD touchpanels would be nice but they are extremely expensive. I
have a price list from 1997 and they seem to have a simple pricing
structure
for add on modules.
a	Expensive
b Very Expensive.

For a card which gives 16 inputs 387 UKP, an 8 port IR card is 542 UKP and
an Infra red emitter (basically a 70p led in a plastic case) 39UKP

The basic systems we have work out at 1590 + 503 for the keypad. You could
have a Homevision per room for that price and have onscreen text. !!!
