Try a few bits of fishing line, make sure it is taught, running the length
of the aerial.  The problem with 'scary' things (fake birds etc) is that
birds apparently get used to them if they are not moved regularly, and you
probably don't want to do that... if you just do something that stops them
landing on it, it's probably more likely to last.

Only if you know how to administer a non-lethal shock to a range of
birds... and without blowing up your aerial amplifier or TV from the
leakage :-)

Steer clear of anything metallic, as it might mess up your reception.

Or you could try one of those little plastic windmill things, probably on
sale now at your local holiday resort or toy shop...

Another idea- you could stretch plastic (eg clingfilm) across from the top
of the reflector to the opposite end of the array, not sure if birds would
be able to land on that slippy slope or not...
