I'm sure this has been done to death elsewhere, but I'm not a true
audiophile so don't know. Tim (and others) - in your opinion - is criticism
of MP3 fair? My feeling is that people tend not to compare like with
like...
Is MP3 compressed to a relatively high bit rate (say 128kbit) using VBR
really that bad?

MPEG2 is pretty awful from Sky, but that's mainly because the compression
is
to high... As long as you're not too ambitious with the compression, what's
the point in keeping redundant data?
