Blade Encoder is one of the slower ones you can use.  However it is also one of the best quality.  I use Blade in conjunction with Audio Grabber when I'm archiving CDs and I want the quality.

 

If you're looking for speed try Audio Catalyst.  It uses the Xing encoder which is supposed to be poorer quality but it is MUCH faster.

Can you get cron (the Unix scheduler) for Windows?  It would probably be a
useful scheduler for this kind of thing.

That's very interesting.  Everyone else I speak to seems to be able to MP3
encode CDs several times faster than real time, but mine, like yours, takes
several times the CD duration to encode (which is what the bladenc docs
suggest).  Any idea why?
