I found a Labgear handylink IR MRX120 in Dixons for 29.99 GBP two weeks
ago. I had coax to all rooms and a TV in the lounge and bedroom but had
not added any splitters or amps (I only moved in three weeks ago). The
Labgear solved two problems; limited TV and IR distribution.

The installation was very simple (appart from the fact that I can't
easily get to the back of my video) but does need two people, mainly to
test the IR is working. I have a coax from the aerial which goes to a
patch panel in a cupboard and is connected to an F-type socket in the
lounge. The base unit takes the aerial feed and has two outputs; one to
the Video and another back to the patch panel from where it goes to the
bedroom. In the bedroom, the Labgear has a IR receiver which sits on
the bedroom TV and plugs into a module that plugs into the coax input
on the TV or Video (if you have a video in your bedroom too). In the
Lounge it has two IR senders (I only have one connected to my video [
no satalite box :( but I'm thinking of using the second one if I get
the sony DVD jukebox :) ]. As my current TV is two hundred years old
and only has a coax input I'm affectively using the Labgear as a
splitter and I'm not clear as to weather it includes an amplifier.
Picture quality seems a bit worst but that could be due to other
factors.

Overall it has worked very well and more importantly, justified putting
in the miles of cable. When I have time, I will play with the aerial
and TV connections to see if my picture quality will improve.
