They are targeted at slightly different markets, in fact they can run
happily together. There are others on the list who I am sure can answer
this
better than me but here goes.

Comfort is a top of the range alarm system with a voice mail facility it
also has a good level of expandable IO and it will react to and send X10
commands

HomeVision is a top of the range automation controller, it has no intruder
alarm functions built in and no voice mailboxes, but it is a very powerful
system and it is expandable.

I am developing some light control systems and have a HomeVision unit which
I am using as a front end, I do not have a comfort system but I will be
getting one to ensure that it will work with my lighting systems, I have
received the technical information on it and it does look very good.

The bottom line, if you need a alarm system then Comfort is the one to go
for, if you need high end home automation then get the HomeVision or better
still get both. Both companies are _very_ helpful and respond to customers
requests quickly.
