I received mine this morning from Letsautomate (I paid extra for
Saturday delivery), together with various other bits including the
Mouse Remote (haven't set it up yet).

I also have several of the X10 PIR transmitters but have only tried one
briefly some time ago - these appear to work quite well too.

Anyway, The Keyfob and the TM12U:

The Keyfob is two and a quarter inches by one and a half inches.

I have the TM12U plugged in the Kitchen near the back window. My
parking space is at the rear of the property about 30 foot away. The
keyfob works most of the time from just outside the back gate but not
from inside the car. This is line of sight. It appears to always work a
bit closer so I would say maximum range is about 28 foot.

The keyfob defaults to A1 & A2, but you can change this to any
housecode/unit code. I believe the you set the first one and the second
follows - i.e., B3 also gives B4.

I also tried the keyfob from my office in the Cellar - it doesn't work
even though it's very close to the kitchen. The house is over 100 years
old so I suspect it's the thick floors. I also use ZoomAir wireless
network cards and I get a connection from the garden (or anywhere in
the house) to my server in the Cellar - of course the keyfob is a tiny
battery powered device so you wouldn't expect a long range.

This is my first message to the group although I've been lurking for
ages. I have lots of X10 equipment all bought from Letsautomate,
ranging from Homevision to the mouse remote. If I get a chance I'll put
a website together!

Chris.
