Hi Paul,

Rather than "remote" the fuse...Why not mount the Din Module
remotely.

All that is required is a couple of Twin & Earth cables from the
ceiling
rose to a suitable location inside a closet and a small enclosure for the
module. This method means that the house wiring is effectively
"standard"
with a couple of cables running off to a remotely located module. Easy to
restore the house to normal if you move out, and easy access to the module
if and when it goes faulty.

I realise this means running cables which is one of the reasons people have
chosen to locate them in inaccessable places, but the point I am making is
that to remotely mount the fuse requires you to run a cable anyway !!

There have been numerous mentions about the problems with using LD/AD10's
in
awkward or inaccessable places, which got me thinking...

(If I'm being daft here, please forgive me, as I don't actually have any of
the DIN rail modules...)

BUT, surely it must be possible to "remote" the fuse in the
module: - IE
take out the fuse, solder a suitable length of appropriately rated cable to
the fuse holder, and solder another fuse-holder onto the end of that. Then
you can hide the module away anywhere, and run the fuse to a convenient
location.... - perhaps even one of those flush-mount fuse-holder
faceplates...

feasable? safe???
