Keith, you are a true engineer ;-)  I don't suppose X-10 modules can be set
with a 'max brightness' though, can they?  Just wondering...

With one caveat- halogen bulbs need to be run at full power for a short
while every so often to get up to full temperature and redeposit the
filament- I think that was discussed here before.  Also, halogens don't dim
so linearly as normal bulbs- something like 10% less power gives a 30% drop
in light output.
