What's an LM12W?

If you mean the LM12U plug-in wall units, I have two of these and they work
great - Plug-in and go.

If you mean the LW10U wall switch/dimmer I have two of these also one each
in the lounge and adjoining dining room. They replace a single-gang wall
switch so only have two connections and are effectively wired in series
with
the lamp. They do have a minimum rating of 60W though because of the lack
of permanent power. No problems so far in the 10 months or so that we've
had them although the do make a slight buzzing noise, as per most other
wall
dimmers.

Note: these do stand quite proud of the wall surface as they are quite
thick. Some people have commented that this is too ugly to cope with.

If I have jumped in and totally misunderstood you then I will go and stand
in the corner and wear a silly hat (just like Christmas dinner really!)

Regards,

Jon

Does anyone use LM12W's to control their lights?

Looking at the diagram's on Intellihome, they don't need a ground
connection, just 2 connections to the neutral line.

Someone suggested mounting an X10 unit in a ceiling rose (was it Ant or
Nigel?) Was this the unit they were thinking of using? I never showed much
interest at the time, but now I'm in a position to implement X10 in the
lounge, and I'd like one of these if they're any good.
